Provide Ukraine With Tactical Nuclear Weapons

After the fall of the Soviet Union, the United States feared rogue elements within the KGB might whisk away its nuclear arsenal for sale on the black market. The U.S. diligently struck an agreement with the government of the newly freed country to denuclearize from its arsenal. At the time, Ukraine boasted, as the front line avant-garde to the Soviet Union empire on its western front, the third largest nuclear arsenal. Today, Ukraine is suffering because it has no preemptive or insurance capabilities it can persuade the criminal Putin from exacting a heavy price on its population. The United States must provide Ukraine with tactical nuclear weapons to become a de facto NATO-aligned front line against a terrorist Russian state.

Such would simply change the equation in favor of Ukraine, and become part of its NATO application. We hope the United States is secretly providing that capability today; or, at least, contemplating and preparing for such an eventuality for a quick deployment one day.

It is not enough to simply fight this war while under the threat and duress of a nuclear attack. Ukraine must be able to defend herself from Putin through other than orthodox means.

THE LAST WE WANT

The last thing the United States needs at this juncture in time is to respond to Putin’s nuclear threats. Such should be relegated to Ukraine leaving the United States out of the equation. Let Putin see the futility of his threats because of the Ukrainian possible response.

Ukraine is, without a doubt, a fully europanized western country the U.S. and Europe must trust to carry its western mantle seriously. Lest the powers in the western world deems such a move is counter-productive to the conduct of war, and postulate a full logical explanation against it, the United States must provide Ukraine with tactical nuclear weapons to address the danger Vladimir Putin represents as he attempts to destroy the world order.

It is not enough to simply fight this war while under the threat and duress of a nuclear attack. Ukraine must be able to defend herself from Putin through other than orthodox means, especially after Putin himself inserted the nuclear equation in the middle of a conventional war. A tactical nuclear arsenal would simply provide that layer of protection to all of Europe as a whole.

As for the danger of such in the hands of possibly revenge-seeking people, we must remember that Pakistan is a nuclear country, yet India is safe. The point is that neither Ukraine, nor Russia, are an island. International pressure points galore dictate the foreign policies of a country as much as it dictates their narrow viewpoints.

There is no happy ending to this war because of the very nature of mass murderers like Putin.

FINISH PUTIN OFF

In the case of nuclear weapon usage, Putin would threaten the very existence of the Russian veto at the United Nations if he acted irresponsibly. Such would finish the country on the world stage and would divide it into a zillion smaller nations. But will this be enough to dissuade the mass murderer from using his nuclear weapons to win him an illegal war?

Putin is finished as the leader of Russia, and it is a question of time before his mistakes catch up to his illegal actions. The problem is that we all want him exiting quietly, not because he used nuclear weapons. To mitigate partially this risk, it would behoove the United States to provide Ukraine with a nuclear arsenal of its own it could threaten Russia with in case Putin goes haywire.

Under these circumstances, much cooler heads would prevail in Russia and we might see the end of Putin on TV the way we saw the end of Moammar al-Qadaffi. In other words, nuclear weapons in Ukraine might just push the war to end sooner than later. Along with Putin himself.

There is no happy ending to this war because of the very nature of mass murderers like Putin. He will not succumb until we push him to the edge. Arming the Ukraine with nuclear capabilities might just be the trigger point to end this war by ending the life of Putin.

Margot Robbie insisted on stripping fully nude to make film scene more realistic

Margot Robbie insisted on stripping completely naked to make her The Wolf of Wall Street sex scene more realistic.

The 32-year-old Australian actress famously played Naomi Lapaglia alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in the 2013 Hollywood blockbuster.

Martin Scorses’ movie helped catapult Margot to fame as she was just starting out at the time.

The film is based on the story of controversial stockbroker Jordan Belfor (Leonardo DiCaprio) with Margot playing Belfort’s second wife in the film.

Her role featured numerous sexual scenes, including a full-frontal nude scene, and the blonde bombshell has admitted she was apprehensive about the scenes being immortalised on the internet.

However, when director Scorsese suggested diluting things for her comfort, she made the brave decision to turn him down.

Speaking to The Telegraph in 2014, Margot, who previously appeared in Neighbours, said: “I think nudity for the sake of nudity is shameful.

“If they’ve put it in just so that a girl gets her top off, then that’s disgusting. And you can always tell.

“But I also think it’s disgusting when someone would have got naked in real life, in the film they conveniently leave their bra on, or hold up the bed sheet. Seeing someone being choreographed into being covered up irritates me just as much.”

“The whole point of Naomi is that her body is her only form of currency in this world. So when Marty [Scorsese] was trying to help me out, and said in the scene where she seduces Jordan perhaps I could have a robe on, I said she wouldn’t. She has to be naked. She’s laying her cards on the table.”

Despite being committed to the role, Margot has revealed in the past that she did find filming the sex scene difficult and embarrassing.

She told Porter in 2018: “It doesn’t come across when you’re watching the movie, but in reality we’re in a tiny bedroom with 30 crew crammed in.

“All men. And for 17 hours I’m pretending to be touching myself. It’s just a very weird thing and you have to bury the embarrassment and absurdity, really deep, and fully commit.”

Israel: excellent primary health care, but hospitals must improve – OECD

14/10/2012 – Israel has world class-primary care services and should now focus efforts on bringing its hospitals up to the same high international standards, according to the OECD Reviews of Health Care Quality: Israel.

While most OECD countries grapple with rising healthcare costs, Israel has maintained tight control – limiting health spending to about 8% of GDP, the eighth lowest across OECD countries – and still offers universal coverage and high-quality primary health care services.

Medical teams in community-based health clinics allow patients access to a broad range of health expertise and support in a one-stop-shop, offering care that helps avoid expensive hospitalisation. For example, though Israel has the same rate of diabetes – 6.5% of the adult population – as many other OECD countries, it has the second lowest rate of hospitalisation for poorly controlled diabetes.

Clinics are held to account through the Quality Indicators in Community Health Care Programme which tracks performance across thirty five key measures. Unlike the United Kingdom, Australia and France that offer financial incentives to providers that meet performance targets, Israel’s health plans help clinics by showing them what they are not doing well and how they can improve.

In contrast, there is insufficient public information on the quality of care patients receive when they visit a hospital and no system-wide monitoring to improve the quality of hospital care. Compounding this unsatisfactory situation, co-ordination between primary care and hospitals is poor, with no single electronic data system to track and share patient information.

The Health Care Quality Review of Israel also flags the persistent inequalities in Israelis’ health outcomes and access to healthcare. Israeli-born Jews in urban centres and those able to pay the rising out-of-pocket costs are getting better care, and living longer, than immigrants, Arabs, and poor people.

Pressure on the health care system will continue to rise as medical professionals who emigrated from Russia after the collapse of the Soviet Union reach retirement age, young doctors choose to specialise, the elderly population grows, and the rate of chronic disease rises. To help the Israeli government make prudent reforms to prepare the system for tomorrow, the OECD’s report recommends:

  • Improving care in hospitals through a quality monitoring programme and by obliging hospitals to develop their own plans to improve the quality of their services.
  • Improving co-ordination of care, including through the electronic transfer of patient information.
  • Boosting current efforts to tackle inequalities by rolling out programmes that target disadvantaged groups, providing cultural appropriateness training to doctors and nurses, limiting further increases in co-payments and ensuring that healthcare is accessible to people in the north and south of the country.
  • Enhancing primary care services by expanding the number of chronic disease conditions covered through data monitoring and encouraging younger doctors to work in primary care.

First Army OC/T Wins Five National Physique Categories

ALEXANDRIA, Va. – Staff Sgt. Diamond R. Taylor, observer coach/trainer and behavioral health specialist assigned to Task Force Outlaw, 2nd Battalion, 346th Training Support Regiment, 5th Army Brigade, 1st Army Division West, competed and won in both the Battle Royale and Armed Forces National Championships here Oct. 1.

Taylor, a Keansburg, New Jersey native, won five awards: Battle Royale Overall for Figure; Armed Forces National Championship Overall for Figure; Armed Forced National Championship Open Class D First Place; Battle Royale Open Class C First Place; and Battle Royale First Responder First Place.

“I started my competition preparation July 13, which was a weekly adjustment to my diet and exercise based on my body composition,” said Taylor. “The end goal was to work on my conditioning to improve my overall body composition from my previous show in April. Training included six days a week of weightlifting and says days of cardio which varied from 60 to 120 minutes.”

The National Physique Committee, a worldwide physique organization since 1982, hosts annual competitions that require contestants to meet high standards and regulations.

“I’m very lucky to have a supportive group at work who held me accountable with my diet and motivation by reminding me that I was ‘almost there’ and that ‘it’ll be worth it,’ said Taylor. “When I returned to Fort Bliss, Texas, my section surprised me with balloons, flowers, and a celebration to express how proud they were of me. They were also very understanding and would allow time to train when needed. I’m especially thankful for 1st Lt. Alexis Grayson, my section leader, who was always there for me and created an environment that fostered growth and professional development.”

Command Sgt. Maj. Maranda McCorvey, 2-346th TSBN senior enlisted advisor, describes Taylor as a soldier who excels on and off duty.

“Staff Sgt. Taylor’s work performance is well above average,” said McCorvey. “Hearing that she won five medals and took overall winner ignited my emotions to a higher level. I was both surprised and not surprised because this was a national-level competition, and I knew she was competing with some great bodybuilders. However, I was not surprised because I saw the hard work she put into it. She stayed focus and committed to her diet and workouts. Her selfless service, skills, knowledge, and leadership abilities contributed directly to her many accomplishments. It is without doubt that she will continue to soar in her professional career and activities.”

Taylor applies her can-do attitude to leading members of her section.

“Staff Sgt. Taylor is an instrumental coach and mentor to many of the soldiers throughout TF Outlaw and other units,” said McCorvey. “She is the epitome of a noncommissioned officer and a leader who exemplifies the total soldier concept. Staff Sgt. Taylor is a professional soldier in every way at all times no matter the situation. She lives the Army values and goes above and beyond what is asked, without being told to do so. I’m proud to have her in our formation.”

Along with her Army team, Taylor attributes a lot of her discipline to her upbringing.

“I come from a single-mother household,” said Taylor. “My mother is my rock, my role model, and my everything. Mirroring her perseverance, work ethic, and dedication is what helped me train and accomplish my goals. There were hard times, but we got through it. She used to say, ‘pain is beauty,’ and that is something I carry with me. There will be hard times but stick it out and the beauty will be there.”

Taylor is a correction officer who joined the U.S. Army Reserves in 2008 and is currently mobilized as an OC/T with the 5th Armored Brigade.

“I joined the Army because I saw the positive impact it had on my older sister. I was unsure if I wanted to go to college at the time, so the Army allowed me to have options in addition to school.”

She drew inspiration to compete by overcoming past challenges.

“In 2012, I was 176 pounds and failed Army height and weight standards for my age group,” said Taylor. “My Army Physical Fitness Test run was at 22 minutes and that was with me trying. After being flagged, I worked to lose the weight. Since then, I have fallen in love with working out. I was introduced to bodybuilding through a few friends I met overseas while deployed. I adjusted my training and decided to compete as it required mental and physical dedication. I remember admiring Olympian winners thinking ‘I would kill to do that.’ From then, I was inspired and knew I had the ability to do it, I just had to train.”

Taylor applied her training to her first competition this past April, taking home the titles of True Novice First Place, Novice First Place, and second place in Open Class but finetuned her regimen to win big this time around.

“I didn’t know what to expect at my first competition,” said Taylor. “The Armed Forces National Championship was a competition I always wanted to compete in as it combined my love for the military with my love for working out. When I received my stage shots from my first competition, I knew I could be better. We worked extra hard, tripled cardio, adjusted my nutrition, and with the help of my coach, Shane Heugly, we delivered a great package during the second competition.”

Taylor aspires to continue training and earn her Pro Card, as well as Personal Training Certification to help others achieve their fitness goals.

Taylor advises other to “stay flexible, expect setbacks, and remember your ‘why’,” when training. “Too often soldiers create rigid plans but staying flexible allows them to adapt and not get too discouraged. Sometimes the setbacks humble us then allows us to reset. The ‘why’ is what will encourage and keep people motivated. But finding that why is up to each person. Also having a good support system is pivotal. I am lucky to have my military, civilian, and family support system

Cold Vs Flu Vs COVID

When you’re sick, all you care about is feeling less miserable—but once the temps drop during fall and winter, it can be tricky to figure out if you’re dealing with the flu, COVID-19, or a common cold. While the flu vaccine won’t necessarily keep you from getting sick—vaccine effectiveness has ranged from 19% to 60% over the past decade, per CDC data—it “can give partial protection and can turn what would have been a more severe illness into a minor illness,” Dr. Murphy said.David Cennimo, M.D., assistant professor of medicine-pediatrics infectious disease at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, agrees. “People who get vaccinated against influenza and have a ‘breakthrough’ infection tend to be much less sick with more mid symptoms that can be confused with a cold,” he says. “This confusion means that we really do need testing to be sure.”Basically, it can be confusing, even when you know all the classic signs of each illness. Here, doctors explain how to figure out the answer to your pressing cold vs. flu vs. COVID-19 questions so you can seek the treatment that will actually make you feel better.

Cold vs. flu vs. COVID-19 symptoms

Part of the reason it can be tricky to know whether you have the flu or a cold or even COVID-19 is simply that there are only a few minor differences between their symptoms.

Cold symptoms

In general, cold symptoms show up primarily above your neck:

  • Runny nose
  • Coughing and sneezing
  • Sore throat
  • Slightly swollen glands
  • Minor aches and pains

Flu symptoms

This includes symptoms above and below your neck. You have all the signs of a cold, plus the following:

  • Fever over 100°F
  • Chest coughs
  • Weakness and fatigue
  • Headaches
  • Chills
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Full-body aches

And, again, because COVID-19 should be considered, too, here are the biggest signs of that illness, per the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

  • Fever or chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea

Parsley Tea: Health Benefits And How To Enjoy It

Parsley tea has many health benefits and can be enjoyed both hot and cold. When brewed hot, parsley tea can help to soothe an upset stomach, while cold parsley tea can be refreshing and hydrating. Parsley is also a good source of vitamins and minerals, making it a healthy addition to your diet.

Fresh or dried parsley is used in a variety of herbal teas. More parsley can be used in your home cooking, and the benefits aren’t limited to how it can be used. For grilling or making basil, use chimichurri sauce with fresh parsley and cilantro herb sauce; it is a tangy, bright, and fresh herb sauce that complements the grill or the salad. Herbal tea, such as parsley tea, has numerous benefits and is simple to make. Heat up some fresh or dried parsley (fresh or dried), then add a sweetener, or fresh lemon if desired. Bring fresh or dried parsley to a boil in hot water for 5-7 minutes. If you prefer a stronger or milder flavor, you should increase the amount of parsley in your parsley tea.

Adding honey, lemon juice, or sugar to parsley tea can be as simple or as complex as you like. The basic principle of parsley tea is to make it by boiling water and parsley, which can be either fresh or dried.

How Do You Drink Parsley Tea?

Credit: blogspot.com

There’s no one way to drink parsley tea, as people can add it to hot water or cold water depending on their preference. Some might also like to add sweetener to their tea, while others might enjoy it plain. To make parsley tea, simply steep parsley leaves in hot water for a few minutes before drinking.

A phaslea is a biennial herb that has two years to maturity. flavonoids and antioxidants in parsley include vitamin A, C, K, and folate. Herbal tea, as opposed to raw tea, can be made using it. parsley is an antibacterial and antifungal agent that is beneficial to bacterial and fungal infections. vitamin k improves bone health by increasing calcium absorption and decreasing urine calcium levels. Eating parsley, which contains a high concentration of folic acid, aids in the prevention of defective neural tubes in the developing fetus. parsley contains beta carotene, which aids in the reduction of asthma risk and the elimination of any residues or debris from the lungs. The benefits of parsley tea in improving blood health include improved circulation and anemia prevention. Furthermore, it strengthens the vessels, which means that it can reduce blood vessel damage.

Parsley tea, despite its high water content, has been shown to have a diuretic effect. parsley not only boosts urine production, but it also aids in a number of other health conditions. parsley, for example, contains a lot of vitamins K, A, and C, as well as minerals like magnesium and potassium. If you drink parsley tea, you can add vitamin and mineral supplements to your diet without having to drink a lot of water. Before you begin a parsley tea regimen, you should consult with your doctor to ensure that your medications are not adversely affecting your health.

What Happens If You Drink Too Much Parsley Tea?

Excessive amounts of parsley are HIGHLY UNSAFE to consume, as they can cause side effects such as “tired blood” (anemia) and liver or kidney damage.

You can make parsley seasoning at home using a simple herb. There are two types of parsley: curly and flat. Because parsley tea bags are made with dried leaves, they can be kept in a cool, dry place. If you like the taste of your tea, add a dash of lemon or a dash of sugar. The herb contains a lot of vitamin K, C, A, E, and B, as well as fiber, iron, copper, calcium, and potassium. People who consume a lot of parsley may develop anemia, liver or kidney problems if they consume a lot of it. Parsley has been deemed to be safe by the Food and Drug Administration in the United States.

When parsley, like other high-oxalate foods, raises oxalate levels in the blood, some people may experience health problems. Oxalate can be harmful to the body if consumed in large quantities, including anemia, kidney stones, and liver toxicity.
When parsley is taken as medicine, it is SAFE, but consuming a lot of it is HIGHLY UNSAFE. Obeseness and liver or kidney problems are possible side effects. If you’re considering parsley as a health supplement, you should limit your intake.

Parsley Tea: Safe For Some, Dangerous For Others

While drinking parsley tea may reduce your thirst, do not drink it all at once. If you are pregnant or have high blood pressure, you should limit the amount of parsley tea you consume. Although parsley water is generally safe, consuming it in large quantities can be harmful.

IT chiefs vote for innovation, but are they forgetting tech debt?

Despite geopolitical tensions, KPMG’s latest Global tech report 2022 has found there is a widespread appetite across business for new and emerging technology platforms.

Based on a survey of 2,200 executives in Q2 2022, the report found that businesses are keen to embrace new technologies and are poised to invest in new tools, with customer value the primary driver of all tech activity.

According to KPMG’s research, more than two-thirds of businesses (67%) expected to embrace emerging platforms such as crypto, the metaverse, Web3, near field technology (NFT), quantum computing, virtual reality and augmented reality (VR/AR,) 5G, and edge computing within two years. The study also found that over half (57%) of businesses are engaged in transformation to improve customer experience, while 88% said they are advanced in their adoption of cloud technologies.

Customer experience is one of the primary drivers for unlocking digital transformation budgets, according to KPMG. This covers customer-centric experiences, which requires designing workflows, services and products to meet customers’ needs in the most effective way possible. “Our respondents indicate that marketing, customer service and sales functions are benefiting the most from digital transformation programmes, a direct result of the customer-centric techniques that respondents are deploying,” said the report’s authors.

Commenting on the drive to customer-centricity, Barry Brunsman, global leader, CIO centre of excellence at KPMG International, said: “Customer experience is substantially motivating enterprise investments in IT and is becoming synonymous with digital transformation. Tech strategies are anchored to creating loyalty-winning experiences, to safeguard income and encourage [high] levels of repeat revenue from customers.”

Not surprisingly, the report shows a high degree of cloud adoption. The KPMG study found that 88% of respondents said they are advanced in their adoption of cloud technology, and just under three-quarters (73%) are migrating strategic workloads to the cloud. Just 15% of businesses said they have already completed migration and are looking to optimise their systems.

KPMG found that the organisations that are extremely effective at digital transformation, and seeing the highest return on their investment, are the most likely to have fully met or exceeded their objectives with cloud programmes.

Among the questions KPMG asked in its survey was one concerning technical debt, where the IT function struggles with maintaining older systems as new technology is introduced into the business. As new systems are deployed, those being replaced often continue to operate in the business and require ongoing maintenance. The level of maintenance work builds up over time as more new systems are deployed.

Some industry experts estimate that technical debt accounts for up to 40% of annual IT budgets.

About three-quarters of respondents (73%) to the survey said the long-term maintenance costs attached to deploying systems have little to no impact on their IT ambitions.

In comparison to the global average, respondents operating from India are most likely to feel that their IT ambitions are inhibited by tech debt (11%). KPMG found that just over half of all respondents (53%) usually address enterprise IT upgrades in line with an agreed schedule. In the report, KPMG warned that poorly managed technical debt can trigger integration issues and lower overall productivity levels.

“To avoid creating fragmentations that could harm customer interactions, blueprints for emerging technologies should not overlook the importance of minimising tech-debt responsibilities,” said the authors.

The KPMG report quoted Michael Natusch, chief science officer at Prudential, who said: “It’s very easy to build pretty prototypes; it is very hard to build features that actually go live with real customers, while minimising the chances of technology debt becoming an issue.”

KPMG suggested that incorporating feedback from IT execution teams into early planning for emerging technologies can help these innovation efforts to support seamless engagement with customers.

Looking at KPMG’s findings, which show that respondents were less concerned about technical debt, Brunsman said: “Tech debt is a real issue, but the elimination of tech debt doesn’t show up as a rationale for investment.”

In his experience, other business outcomes provide the basis for the investment and tech debt is resolved as an ancillary benefit. “Elimination of tech debt is not a motivator for investment, but it is a benefit of that investment,” said Brunsman.

According to Green, bitcoin’s unique attributes, which are non-sovereign and decentralized and scarce as well as a store and store of value, could give it an advantage over traditional fiat currencies like gold.
